Treatment Pedagogue at SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården
The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also implements secure youth care. We do this at youth homes and homes for adults with substance abuse, across the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården receives non-compulsory school girls. We operate in Fjugesta, thirty kilometers west of Örebro, and in Granhult, thirty kilometers north of Lindesberg. The girls come to us because they have psychosocial issues as well as problems with crime or substance abuse.
Job Description
SiS Youth Home Bergsmansgården will expand in 2025 and is now in the initial stages of opening a new satellite unit for non-compulsory school girls in Granhult. The Granhult unit plans to open a locked and an open department with a total capacity for eleven girls.

As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work, as well as providing support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our routines and contribute to the smooth running of daily activities such as schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Case management is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied.

Working hours are according to a schedule, including days, evenings, and weekends.
As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with a guided introduction and prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations.
Qualifications
To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations, and you share SiS's core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our youth. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with both youth and other staff members. You have good communication skills and can maintain your calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively.
You should also have:
- A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent
- A valid driver's license (B)
- Good Swedish language skills in both spoken and written form
Meritorious:
- Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work within psychiatry or LSS care.

Employment:
The position is a permanent full-time employment starting with a six-month probationary period. Start date according to agreement.
